Sponsor a Cat

Do you want to help homeless kitties but are unable to foster or adopt one? Consider sponsoring a cat’s adoption instead.

Adoption Sponsorship is a great way that you can help our kitties without having to add one of them to your household, or deal with ongoing expenses!

Our sponsorship program allows us to reduce a cat’s adoption fee without losing funds we rely on to continue to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats and kittens.

How does it work?

The quantity of a sponsorship donation made in a particular cat’s name is deducted from that cat’s adoption fee. This quantity can be whatever you decide! From $1 (donations over $2 are tax deductible) to the full adoption fee.

What does it cost?

That is entirely your choice! Donations over $2 (including those made as a “sponsorship”) are tax deductible, and you can choose to sponsor an adoption with any amount up to the full adoption fee of each cat you wish to sponsor.

Which cats are eligible for sponsorship?

At this time, we are only accepting adoption sponsorships for cats over 12 months of age, as this age group tends to find homes much slower than kittens, and to avoid encouraging “impulse adoption” of kittens.

If you would like to sponsor one of our cats but aren’t sure which could benefit the most, you can message us to have a chat.

How to sponsor a cat for adoption

Deposit your sponsorship amount to our account (details below) with “sponsor” in the reference field, followed by the cat’s name, and message us to let us know it’s on its way. Once your donation has cleared our bank account, a sponsorship slip will be filled out on your sponsored kitty’s behalf and shared on our page on Facebook (unless you’d prefer we didn’t).

All donations to IFR, including Sponsorship contributions, are tax deductible. Simply ask us for a receipt.
