🏖 Sandy Update 🏖 (13 April, 2020)

Our precious little girl was seen by our vet again on Saturday morning. Her tummy felt better to the touch but unfortunately her temperature was elevated to 39.6 (normal 38-38.5). This was most likely due to the sand passing through her bowels and them becoming inflamed. She was given an anti-inflammatory injection and her lactulose medication upped to 1ml 🧡

Happy to report that yesterday morning she appeared to turn a corner and seemed more alert and was beginning to play and her stools are almost perfect 🧡

You may notice that our beach duo has become a trio. That’s because on Saturday, late afternoon, their sibling was also caught and we were able to reunite them all once again. A very special thanks to the Mother and daughter team who spent a week down at the beach, determined to catch every single one of them. Their patience and persistence paid off and now all three are safe in care. Thank you Bec and Zalea 🧡

On a sad note. There was a fourth sibling, a ginger like Sunny, whose remains were discovered just over a week ago and had most likely been there for 3 or so weeks earlier. We assume the little one succumbed to a snake bite. The remains have been collected and laid to rest in the beautiful garden sanctuary of their carers 🧡

Special thanks and appreciation to those who donated towards Sandy’s care 🧡
