RUBY

Sadly, we have to report that our senior girl Ruby passed away a couple of days ago.
Her foster carers noticed she wasn’t acting herself, and then suddenly she wasn’t able to use her back legs. She was rushed to the vet where it was discovered that she had suffered a stroke.
The kindest thing for Ruby was to say goodbye. Her wonderful foster carers were with her as she went peacefully surrounded by love. It was a horrible day for everyone involved, but we are glad that we were able to make the kindest decision for Ruby so she didn’t have to suffer. We’re also so glad that she came into our lives in May this year. The thought of her going through this out on the streets is unbearable.
Ruby was fortunate to be in a number of foster homes during her short stay, where she was loved and cared for. Her most recent foster family said: “We loved having her around so much. She was so beautiful. She did seem to come out of her shell and get a bit of life about her for a while.”
It was IFR’s privilege to be able to give Ruby love and safety in her last months of life.
Fly free, Ruby darling
