Kalani is a one year old dark tabby with lovely deep, dark brown markings. Her fur is exceptionally soft and her nickname “Bug” originated from her beautiful big bug eyes.
Known History & Temperament
Kalani came into foster care after a stretch in the pound when she found herself lost in Baldivis. Initially she was scared and a bit growly, but she grew out of this quickly when she knew she was in a safe place with good food, relaxation music and nice people. She started purring and headbutting. The vet estimated her to be about eight months old at that time.
She went into heat not long after arriving, waiving her tushy in the air like she just don’t care. She was spayed and felt so much better. Since then, she’s grown into a beautiful adult cat.
She’s a sassy sweetheart, loves to come visit you for rubs and purrs, especially loves to jump up and say hi while you do things, especially coming for rubs and purrs while I’m on the computer. She loves a good game of sneak attack, she’ll use velvet paws to tap you on your feet to initiate play. She plays chasey with the youngest of her foster siblings (who at eights years of age is the resident junior cat). I think she’d love to have a young cat or cats to play with, and she’s done really well settling in a multi cat household. She shows a curiosity to new people and has become inquisitive. She loves bird watching, following her foster humans around to chill with them and just generally being a cool cat. She has some quirks which I find funny- resident taste tester of food (she loves a little bit of plant based icecream as a special treat), she sleeps with her left arm sticking straight out (and only ever the left one).
She’s not a lap cat but is playful and sweet. She’s done really well with learning some verbal commands and is becoming more chatty.
I think she’ll appreciate a home with people who will be patient and gentle with her while she settles, then be ready to be best buds.
- Chill with a hint of crazy!
- Loves snuggle time, but also ‘alone’ time
- Crazy and entertaining – a laugh a minute!
Interests and Hobbies
“I have the occasional nighttime zoomies, my toys are always moved when my foster carer gets up. I love chasing my ribbon and wiggle stick around corners, as it disappears from sight, I can do a great sneak attack.”
“I don’t like being picked up, but I love pets and attention on my terms. I like when people visit me and give me love and pats, but sometimes I need to let the people know to stop, usually by licking their hand. I do try to be polite about it. If the don’t take the hint, sometimes I’ll do a soft cronch, but I never mean to hurt anyone.”
“I think I’d love just about anywhere that has a warm bed, good food and great company. Maybe some cat friends might be my style? But as long as my new forever humans know how to help me settle in at my pace, with lots of patient care and attention.”
Kalani is a healthy young girl looking forward to a brand new life as an indoor cat.
