Physical Description

Andrew is a black DMH boy who came to us in quite a neglected state. Due to kidney problems and poor health his fur was orange, patchy and felt like straw. After seeing the vet, we put Andrew on a Renal diet and along with lots of love, his health has improved immensely, and his fur is now back to black and really soft.

Along with his lovely soft fur he has amazing ear tufts! Andrew does have a slight hearing loss but it doesn’t seem to bother him at all.

Known History & Temperament

Andrew is a gentle, sweet boy who is most content curling up next to his foster carer all day! We think he is enjoying being looked after, feeling much better and being safe.

Cattitude Level

  • Totally chill, not bovvered
  • Loves snuggle time, but also ‘alone’ time

Interests and Hobbies

His most favourite thing is sleeping on a comfy sofa after a bowl of food! He loves pats and chin scritches and stretching right out. Andrew is very easy going and as long as he has a soft bed and his prescription renal food (plus his favourite treat of roast chicken) he is a happy boy.

Dislikes

Andrew hasn’t been tested with dogs but was not stressed in the pound with lots of barking doors right next door, though this could be due to him having a hearing impediment. He doesn’t like other cats getting in his face but other than that, he is a very content kitty.

Purrfect Home

He is fine with other cats and won’t bother them. He’s ok if one of his foster siblings wants to snuggle up next to him. He is currently in a home with lots of other cats and though he doesn’t join in with the younger ones playtime, he is fine with them. We’ve not introduced him to any children but don’t think he would mind them as he’s a very chilled out boy. He’s even relaxed when he goes to the vets!

Health Notes

Andrew is on a Prescription Renal Diet for his kidneys and is doing really well. His levels are down and he’s doing marvelously! This diet will need to be given to him to ensure he has a long and happy life. He has been tested for both FIV and FeLV and he is negative for both.
He has some hearing loss.
